Crafty Project #8

Well look at me, getting back to back posts up. But then again, posts about food and craftiness are just easier to squeeze in than a more in-depth post on exercise or anatomy.

So what the latest project, as part of my 45 Crafty Projects in Year? For some reason I've been wanting to make some flag banners, to hang them up for parties and events at the studio. So the idea was percolating, and then I found this cute pre-printed fabric. The panel of fabric was designed so you had two of each flag design and could sew matching ones together, but I sewed completely different fabrics to the back of them (yes, I need to add another photo of the backside don't I?)  Sewed them onto ric-rac and ta da, here the are!

This idea of pre-printed fabrics may go against the crafty mantra of some people, but really this was good for me. I could have pain-sakenly created individual, quilted, paper-pieced flags, but sometimes just creating something, even simple as this, is enough for me…. but then again, I might have to make another string of flags so I can add letters to them to say things like, Happy Birthday! or Welcome, or Party Here….I could even turn them into a Craft a New Body Project of some sort.

You and you classes could make streamers of small flags and run over the hills and through the woods...
