a little hooping while walking

The South Tabor Neighborhood walks are off to a good start. Last night's weather was kind to us with some happy sunshine. We walked, met new peeps and toured some gorgeous yards. When we swung by our place, someone spotted all my hula hoops leaning up against the house. No one can pass up a chance at trying out the hoops!

Super fun evening! Hope more folks join us next week. And I definitely see some hooping classes in the future. Stay tuned. . .

Neighbors who hoop together, stay together! ;-)

Gear worth getting: Helmuffs

Helmuffs? What the heck are Helmuffs? Well, let me tell you!

Here's a sample of what Bikeasaurus is selling.
Helmuffs are my favorite new bike item, and the oh-so-clever creation of Gigi's Hand Work. They are these cute little woolen earmuffs that fit over the straps of your helmut. Plus, they are made from recycled sweaters so they are doubly up my alley!

According to BikePortland.org, they are available at Bikeasaurus (1337 SE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd) and Pedal Bike Tours (133 SW Second Ave), and you can find them at Gigi's shop on Etsy.

I got  a pair for Christmas from Christa. Honestly, I didn't wear them right away, because I wear a skull cap under my helmut in winter. Unlike most folks who could wear Helmuffs to their destination, take off their helmut and go inside some place nice and toasty, I still needed a hat since I was riding to work, outside! Now the weather is warming up. No need for a hat in class, but I still need something to keep my ears warm while zipping around town. Started using them and love them! They fit perfectly and keep my ears warm. They don't interfere with my hearing either. Sweet! Plus they're well made, clever and recycled. What's not to love?
I give the Helmuffs a high five on the scale of 1-5, (1) ho hum - (5)oh yes!

Happy Friday!

This cracked me up. Did you ever notice that cardio equipment at gyms face outside? Come on people. Take it outside!

The joys of being a small business owner

Being a small business owner has it's pluses and minuses, but I wouldn't trade it for the world! I love my peeps and what I do. Another perk? I can call the shots including doing a little trade here and there. Check out this adorable skirt I just got from Jen Neitzel with Jen and Jocelyn.

Jen has a line of super cute skirts. This one is actually a one of kind. I liked the fabric of her fall line and the flowers coming out on the spring line so she blended the two. How sweet is she? I get to kick her bootie in class and she makes me a skirt that covers mine perfectly. ;-)

I've been toying with a running skirt pattern, but I bet Jen will beat me to production, so stay tuned or check her out on Etsy. Thanks Jen!

Jen and Jocelyn skirt in gray with yellow flowers.

A flip to the back with a lil' more flower power. Nice!
