Sugar. The bitter truth

I ran across this graphic and loved the design, so thought I'd share it. I'm not advocating no sugar, but a lot of us do get too much in our average American diet. If you don't eat a lot of processed foods and/or sodas you probably don't have too much to worry about.

What do you think of the graphic? Do you know how much sugar you consume in a day, week or year? So far today I had a teaspoon of honey in my oatmeal and one chocolate/peanut butter malt ball, which I honestly don't know how much sugar it contains (will have to check that when I'm back at the bulk section). There are naturally occurring sugars in the blueberries I ate with my oatmeal and the plum I had at lunch, as well as lactose in my cottage cheese, but I'm not counting those sugar grams. I'm talking about the added sugars.

I love this graphic, too - there should be more of these around, maybe people will finally "get it".

(although there is a typo under "Biggest Culprits"...."Drinks" should only have one "i".)

Uh, oh. If you found that typo I bet you could find a lot more on my posts. ;-) Maybe they misspelled it intentionally so the soft drink industry couldn't come after them.
