Waste Not Wednesday: DIY bowl scraper

I realize bowl scrapers are cheap, so this may seem super cheap, but I thought it was clever and a good way to keep plastic lids out the the landfill. Plus, "bowl scraper" never makes in on to my shopping list. It's just at the moment when I'm making bread that I think about owning one!

I make homemade bread which makes a gooey mess of the mixing bowl, which then makes a gooey mess of my sink. So to get out every last bit of the doughy goodness I needed a scraper. Ta-da! A plastic lid to the rescue.

Super easy, and here's the low down. I took two lids, one as a template, the other to be cut into a bowl scraper, traced an arc onto the scraper-to-be lid, cut it, voila, a scraper.

Like I said, super easy, cheap and good upcycling idea. Don't worry, the container is out in the garden keeping my seedlings warm. I've also used lids between shaped, raw hamburger patties that are headed for the freezer. What about you? Do you have any repurpose ideas for plastic container lids?
