Bear with me, folks. I'm in business for myself. I'm totally aware I need a web presence with a blog, Facebook, tweets, blah, blah, blah. But I'm also in the business of encouraging people to be more active! You can see my dilemma here. I want to inspire you, share tips, and keep in touch, but I also want us all to power down and take it outside.
So what's a girl to do? I promise to blog regularly, but do know that on some days it could be short and sweet. A quote I think 's worth repeating. Maybe a photo of something that can inspire us all. Or at least a post referring to something I wish I had had my camera along when the moment struck. See, I'm woefully behind on the the gadget-widget curve!
Anyway, for today, I have a suggestion. If you're anything like me, you can sit down at the computer to check email only to realize after surfing Facebook, your favorite blog and the New York Times, you hadn't even check your friggin' email! So from now on, I will set a goal and a timer. Sit down with the intention of doing something particular, set a timer for say 5, 10, 15 minutes, get it done and move on.
Here's a study that shows just how much we average per month online. Some studies say there's a connection between depression and web surfing, as well as with obesity. I'm not trying to be Debbie Downer. Think of me as Rosey Reality instead. So, please step away from that iPad, laptop, Android and get outside! Your body, mind and spirit will thank you.
