Last minute giving idea

My husband Corey is in the Building Construction Technology program at PCC. In 2006, he was part of a team of students, PCC instructors and members of the community who headed to the New Orleans area to help Medical Teams International rebuild homes destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.

We all saw the Gulf Coast devastation on TV back in August 2005. The follow up and follow through by the current administration to help citizens of New Orleans, LA, USA was and still is lacking.

One of Corey's instructors, Spencer Hinkle, has visited the region several times to help rebuild houses. And on a recent trip, he met a family who has slipped through the cracks. To see the story about the Brown family, check out the Cities Rebuilding Cities website.

And if you're still wracking your brain trying to figure out what to give to those who have everything, consider giving a donation in their names. After all, most of us already have most everything we really need. We don't want for too much, especially a roof over our heads, but we can definitely make a difference to folks who aren't so lucky.

Peace and health,
